PlayStation is currently facing its own discrimination lawsuit

File a lawsuit against Sony Interactive Entertainment, claiming that it “has fostered a work environment that discriminates against female employees”.

As discovered by Axios, the lawsuit, filed by former PlayStation IT security analyst Emma Majo, claims that Sony “willfully violated” California labor laws by “willfully, knowingly and/or knowingly paying for women less than men for essentially equal or similar work”.

In the lawsuit, Majo alleges that female employees at PlayStation were “not paid equally to male employees,” and were denied promotion and kept at a lower salary than their male counterparts.

Furthermore, the lawsuit alleges that “employment discrimination policies and procedures are centrally established and implemented at the highest levels of Sony”.

The lawsuit surmises that Majo “was not promoted, and she was demoted, because of gender deviance, because she is female, and because she spoke out about gender deviance. She also alleges the termination of her contract is due to gender bias against women and because of prejudice against those who have spoken out about gender bias”.

This lawsuit is like a slap in the face to Sony, who recently spoke out against Activision Blizzard for serious practices in their workplace. In an email to PlayStation employees, CEO Jim Ryan said he was “disappointed and truly stunned to read” that Activision “has not done enough to address a deep culture of discrimination.” and harassment.” PlayStation is currently facing its own discrimination lawsuit
