New Horizons Player recreates King of the Hill intro

Michael McDonald on Twitter has created what devout followers will call a work of art Animal Crossing: New Horizons. With a little help from friends, they recreated the introduction scene from their lover King of the hill with almost 100% accuracy in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

The clip itself is only 30 seconds long, on par with the source material. It has most of the King of the hill cast, including Hank, Dale, Bill and Boomhauer.

There are just some details missing from the otherwise honest entertainment, likely due to limitations in setting up the scenes and bringing in more players. Notable missing people are garbage collectors, utility workers coming and setting up poles, benches cleared and cleared by neighbors, Bobby cycling around Ladybird, Luanne setting off with boyfriend on his motorcycle, and the final scene with Peggy bringing out the trash for Hank to deal with. But these are minor details when compared to the overall tone that is captured.

Otherwise, there were plenty of villagers wandering the streets and the passing clouds overhead cast convincing shadows for the day to pass. However, the cherry above is a recreation of the title card complete with the Hank villager’s head spinning around as “King of the Hill” shifts focus. It’s a great touch on a short and sweet video.

Since the game launched in 2020, fans have been recreating the characters like people from The Genshin effect and exhibition about the future in New horizons.

More ambitious players took on larger quests and recreated entire scenes or areas from other games. Several iconic scenes were notably recreated including the iconic “Aurora Borealis” scene from NShe Simpsons, Mew under urban truck legend from Pokemon, and Lil Nas X’s Montero music videos. Taking it a step further, some players have recreated entire regions from other games. These include the Mabe Village from Wake up link and Pokemon’s City of Colosseum.

There is a whole content gap that players and fans alike can fall into when looking for games that entertain and pay homage to other popular titles. Are from the first act of Hamilton to songs from Disney’s Hercules, there doesn’t seem to be any limit to the creativity of this ardent fanbase. And now, King of the hill fans have their little nod in this great game and even better community.
