Halo Infinite Dev Responds to Complaints About Synchronization Issues in Multiplayer

Although it may be hard to believe, many people play for Halo Infinite it’s been almost two months. Since its release, many players have tried the game, with many praising the gameplay. However, it is not without its drawbacks. Among the problems with the game, a major one that affects performance is synchronous decoding.

As the name suggests, desynchronization occurs in Halo Infinite when the player’s connection to the server is out of sync. As a result of this decoding, players affected by these connectivity issues may randomly teleport to different points on the map as the server tries to catch up. This unfortunate side effect of desynchronization tends to cause chaos in matches, as what a single player sees doesn’t always indicate what’s really going on in the multiplayer lobby. . Currently, synchronous decoding is an issue that could affect all multiplayer modes. However, it looks like a fix may be imminent.

In a tweet from January 11, Jerry Hook, Head of Design for 343 Industries, updated fans on some of the issues the company was addressing earlier this year. Among the issues discussed is desynchronization in multiplayer matches in Halo Infinite. According to Hook, the development team will begin investigating the issue in the future. “Desync is under consideration,” he said.

This feedback from the developer is good news for many fans who want the issue resolved. It’s understandable that players want a fix to be made in the near future, as the async feature ruins the competitive integrity of online matches. The problem is even more frustrating for those who play in rated playlist, because precious rank points are increased to obtain. Unfortunately, this comment from the developer doesn’t provide a timeline for any potential fixes, meaning players may be forced to wait a while for improvements.

This isn’t the only problem the development team at 343 Industries is looking to address at the start of the new year. Hook notes that engineers at the company have been working on fixes for Break the big team battle during the holidays. This chaotic 12v12 mode is very popular with fans, but recent problems have made the mode nearly unplayable. Additionally, Hook revealed that developers are working on new ways to combat cheating on PC.

It will be interesting to see how developers at 343 Industries try to fix decoding issues affecting Halo Infinite in the coming days. Hopefully the issue can be resolved soon so players can get back to enjoying the smoothest possible multiplayer experience in multiplayer.
