Now, as fans are once again wondering if Heinicke could be the future, the 28-year-old says he’s not thinking about it “at all”. He attributes his revival to a focus on the present, to balance the unscripted style with the cautious play that coaches want. Heinicke has fulfilled many of his childhood dreams this year – becoming a starting player for the NFL, playing at Lambeau Field, beating Tom Brady – but when asked about what’s next, he said: “Hitting beat Russell Wilson,” the Seattle Seahawks quarterback he was about to face “Monday Night Football. ”
