Each week, I’ll use this space to tell you what a few of the best bets on the weekend are. I will also be playing a match of the week, where a team that is at least the weaker team will be picked to win outright.
I will also give you a selection of other potential games College football Teams play the playoffs. There may be situations for teams that I haven’t listed that would cause them to consider CFP, but I don’t see them as likely.
At the end of the week, I went up 1-2 again to drop to 17-19 overall, but I hit a particularly nasty spot. It’s 4-8 straight up and 5-7 ATS.
Here are the best bets for Week 13 with odds from Caesars Sportsbook.
Select week 13
No. 16 Iowa in Nebraska
Featured game | Nebraska Cornhuskers vs Iowa Hawkeyes
I wish I had this when Nebraska was such a favorite on the pitch. That was before we got to know the senior Cornhuskers midfielder Adrian Martinez will miss the game with an injured shoulder. Nebraska has spent most of this season playing just enough to lose. For a red-shirt freshman just starting his first step, it could be even worse than that. Pick: Iowa (-1.5)
Kansas State in Texas
Featured game | Texas Longhorns vs. Kansas State Wildcats
How is Texas favored over anyone right now? I mean, sure, a blind pig might find an occasional cob, but I certainly wouldn’t bet on it. Longhorn is at home, but historic collapse This season shows no sign of cooling down. I will take the points here. Pick: Kansas State (+3)
State of Florida in Florida
Featured game | Florida Gators vs. Florida State Seminoles
This is another team that shouldn’t be favored, although I wouldn’t be surprised if Florida showed up for this team and played well. However, these are two teams going in opposite directions. The Gators have lost their last four conference games and yielded 52 points to Samford on the way to firing Dan Mullen. Seminoles have won 5/7 games since starting with a score of 0-4. Select: Florida State (+3)
Sublimation of the week
15 Texas A&M in LSU
Featured game | LSU Tigers vs Texas A&M Aggies
It’s LSU coach Ed Orgeron’s Swan song, so expect him to make it through all the stops to head to the sunset with a win. The gameplay doesn’t build confidence in this pick, so this is a scary guy indeed. LSU just beat Florida and Louisiana-Monroe since September. The Aggies had a four-match winning streak Ole Miss the last time they hit the road. Select: LSU (+205)
