Part 11 of Apex Legends is in full swing, and the developers at Respawn Entertainment seem to have no intention of slowing down. Recently, the game studio announced a new update coming to the game called Raiders Collection Events. During the announcement for the event, it was revealed that Wattson will be the next Legend to receive an exclusive heirloom.
Introduced at the start of Season 2, Wattson had an interesting journey leading up to Season 11. With the ability to place electric fences as well as a powerful interceptor pole, her kit is built around defensive play. While Legend hasn’t always been the most viable pick in competitive matches, she has maintained a devoted fan base through the seasons. With this in mind, an heirloom exclusive to Wattson would be an exciting addition for many fans. However, it seems that not everyone is happy with the look of the new collection.
Since the reveal of Wattson’s heirloom known as the Energy Reader, many Members of the Apex Legends community voiced their opinion on the design. Unfortunately, it seems that many gamers were not satisfied with the final product. Some have even claimed that the heirloom looks like a price scanner found at a supermarket. “Can I check the price of this item here?” one user on Reddit quipped. While not everyone thought the design was that bad, many expected more considering how long the character has been rumored to receive the heirloom. “I feel like all of the Wattson Mains deserve something better for waiting so long,” said one fan.
Although many players object to the design, some people on social media say that they really like the design. They claim that the collection is unique, claiming that it looks no different from a battle royale. Another highlight for some is how the heirloom comes together Lovely Nessie found in the game. For those wondering, a cute dinosaur image periodically appears on the screen of the Energy Reader.
Alongside this new heirloom, the Radiers Collection Event will bring some new skins to the game. With a pirate theme for the event, these new legendary cosmetics have a gorgeous look. Legends getting new skins include Revenant, Bloodhound, Wattson, Pathfinder, Loba, Wraith, and Valkyrie.
It will be interesting to see if fan reception regarding this exclusive heirloom heats up once it is released. For die-hard Wattson fans looking to add this new collection to their collection, it will be available at the start of the Raiders Collection Event on December 7. You can only purchase it, however. passed Extremely rare heirloom fragments or collect all 24 items included in the event.
